Bug for the Day


It's hard to get a good shot of a dragonfly. They are fairly big: they have a long body and long wings, but they are skinny, so you have to get close to get any detail. I didn't think this shot was too bad.

The wings are folded on mine, not folded on yours. I wonder why. Is because they are different species? Different ages? Different stages? One needs to cool down, the other doesn't?

Yours is much bigger and fatter and has a bent wing.

Bent wing? That's because he/she'd just flown into the finger I'd suddenly raised to make a point :-(

It's sitting quietly, probably stunned, from the collision.

It was its way to (hunt over) my garden pond via the terrace where I was gesticulating. My bad :-(
