Naxalites

Dirty Reds are everywhere. Kind of surprised to see the hammer and sickle. Don't see it much anymore. This bunch is in India. Wikipedia had an interesting comment on these people:
For the past 10 years, it has grown mostly from displaced tribals and natives who are fighting against exploitation from major Indian corporations and local officials whom they believe to be corrupt.[citation needed]
The statement itself basically sums up my view of communist rebels. If the powers that be were not so corrupt and did not have so little regard for the people living there, the communists wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But the footnote - citation needed - means we don't really have any idea what's going on. Could be just some gangsters have seized an opportunity to exploit some local discontent as a way to enrich themselves at the expense of the current power structure.
