Keira Knightley plays Joan Clarke, one of the codebreakers who worked with Alan Turing at Bletchley Park in WW2. Joan got 'a double first in mathematics' at Cambridge, whatever that is. I suppose it's a good thing, I mean it must be, The Weinstein Company made a movie about her.
The Bletchley Park codebreaking operation during World War 2 was made up of nearly 10,000 people (about 75% of this number was women). However, there are very few women of that are formally recognised as cryptanalysts working at the same level as their male peers. - Bletchley Park ResearchWW2 just won't go away. Other posts that mention Bletchley (what a weird name) Park. Unfortunately Google has lost most of the pictures and I don't have the patience to go dig them up. They are probably on my old computer, sitting in the corner, unloved and unplugged.
