Eli Lilly, the giant biochemical conglomerate headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Looking for more info about their domination of medicinal patents, I came across
the Biopolis in Singapore (page 55-56).
Looking for a better picture of the complex, I came across a vision for a multi-level city in the Netherlands from the 1970's.
It looks a whole lot like what I envisoned how a city should be built.

Big Pharma like Eli Lilly, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, etc, need longer patents to protect their profits they use to buy Congressmen to pass the laws to keep less expensive drugs from foreign competition from undercutting their profits. It’s a win win win...
the only loser is the public but if they don’t like it they can buy their own congressmen.
