Kelly's Cobras

Update August 16, 2011: This Internet link to Kelly's Cobras, my Dad's old army outfit, seems to be dead.

Here's a couple of other links that are live:

  1. I know this is really (really) old... Was just doing an internet search on the 494 bomb squadron researching some family history, and I see that the link to Kelly's cobras is dead. Thought you might have some insight since it was your dad's old outfit. Mine too, it turns out. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

  4. My dad, now 2 years deceased was a tail gunner , a member of the 494th bomb squadron. Is there any one who has some info on a viable link to the 494th, kelly’s Cobras, etc.
    His name: Boris Migliori

He kept every bit of his history. There are photos, flight records, citations, etc., etc.
I am looking for some specific info related reunions of the 494th that occurred in the late 80’s and 90’s.

    1. I remember your Dad, Boris Migliori, I met him at some of the reunions probably in the early 2000's. Lovely man.

  5. My uncle, S/Sgt James Bruce Ellenburg, was killed in 1945 during the Corregidor/Coballa mission. My father said his plane crashed on takeoff. His service record states he was an Aerial Engineer. This is the archive of the old website, where he is listed in the "In Memorium" section:

  6. Can any of you share any info with me, especially photos? My dad passed away in 2013 and never talked about his military service although I believe he was part of Kelly's Cobras. His name was Allan L Fink, a B-24 pilot, I believe in the 494th bomb group. I want to pass along as much information as possible to my children and grandchildren. Any help would be very greatly appreciated!

  9. This is an old blog but it's worth a shot. I've been researching my grandfather and found him on the list for the 864th bomb squadron although his dd214 states 867th. I've been trying to find what plane he was on or what crew he was with. His name was Leonard Sanborn. His friends called him Red and he was a flight/gunner engineer. I've hit a dead on trying to find this info outside of physically going to NARA.
