We're talking about my confusion here. Here's a line from
a story in last week's New Yorker:
"The Greek state, having relied for years on borrowed money and largely
fraudulent economic data, cannot meet its debts, which are approaching
half a trillion dollars—a lot of money for a country with a population
of eleven million."
Half a trillion is 500 billion. They haven't got there yet, so let's cut them a little slack and call it 400 billion. Divide that by 11 million people and we've got $36,363 per person.
That's just amazing.
