Icon A5 Flying Boat
Comrade Misfit posts about Icon's sales contract. It contains some restrictions. Are those restrictions bad? Since 90% of the price of a new aircraft is arguably due to regulations from the FAA and insurance premiums derived from courts of law in the USA, I am glad to see someone pushing back. Whether it will work is another matter.

The aircraft itself looks to be pretty much a toy. Top speed is 100 MPH and it only carries two people. It is amphibious, meaning it can land on land or water. I can see how it could be a lot of fun in places with lots of water and not much level ground. Shoot, it might even be useful in a situation like that.
