TRUE STORY Trailer (2021)
ONE Media
Here we are a couple of days later and I have more to say about this irritating, stupid show. The show opens with our hero is traveling with a small group of people and they are all flying in first class except for one woman. One of the posse makes some crack about how if she does something, like write some good material or something, she can ride in first class, but since she's hasn't, she's riding coach. Later on she's talking to one of the crew, maybe the same guy, and tells him that since none of the material she's been writing has been getting used, she's thinking about jumping ship and going to work for someone else. The guy replies telling her she's getting well paid, that they need her, she's part of the crew. So why the fuck isn't she riding in first class with everyone else? And why are they flying commercial anyway since evidently they usually fly private jets? Girl, tell the guy to eff off.
Later on, after they find the dead girl in the bed, Snipes calls a 'friend' of his to help dispose of the body. He shows up cracking jokes like this is no big deal, not serious like someone who is dealing with serious business, so you kind of suspect something is off. After the body is disposed off (hauled off in a room service cart) he starts asking for a bundle of money. Why wasn't this negotiated up front? Well, Hart is distraught over the whole thing, mostly because if word leaks out his career would go down in flames, never mind whether he is guilty or not, and certainly never mind the dead girl.
Then, at the very end of the episode, Hart, who has never hurt nobody, becomes incensed by the gangster request for an extortionate amount of money and strangles him with a cell phone charging cord. What kind of amateur did you hire, Carlton? Well, he didn't hire a gangster, he hired an actor, and a poor one at that. You can bet the girl is fine, but now Hart has a real dead body to deal with.
People with money aren't any smarter than anyone else. More vicious, determined and driven maybe, and they might have some innate talents, but generally they are not any smarter than your average working stiff.
Netflix, half a dozen episodes, more or less.
Update May 2024 replace missing video.
