Probably not much different than trying to land in the desert when you are blowing up big clouds of dust, which has been one of their more popular sports for the last 30 years. That's the military for you, doing risky things in risky places. They seem to crash a large number of aircraft even when they are not in combat.
Stupid, no way they could see in that mess so two 5.9 million dollar choppers bite the dust.
