Flight of the XP-38
The History Guy: History Deserves to be Remembered

Watched this video the other day. Lockheed had been knocking around the airplane business since 1912, but the P-38 and WW2 really made their bones. They built 9,000 P-38s.

Rocketdyne Rocket Engine - Photo by Aerojet

Today I see a story on Defense Blog about Lockheed and Aerojet where I found this line:
Pentagon’s No.1 weapons supplier Lockheed Martin Corp. says it has terminated its agreement to acquire rocket engine and missile maker Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings, Inc.

Pentagon’s No.1 weapons supplier. Good to know.
