61 year old Jackie Chan beating up Irishmen and killing terrorists. Pierce Brosnan as an old man. Pretty good action-revenge-thriller. I don't know if Jackie did all his own stunts in this one, it looked like he did. They weren't as crazy-over-the-top like in his earlier movies, but he still gets around pretty good. He does resort to a submachine gun to take out a nest of vipers. Set in London and Belfast.
We are outraged when bad people do bad things. I like to think we are more civilized now that we were a thousand years ago, meaning fewer people are killed by violence. We keep trying to lower that number, but I somehow doubt we will ever be able to eradicate it completely. Everyone has a bit of a violent streak in them. It's a fundamental part of human nature. In some people it is barely detectable, in others it radiates like heat. I kind of suspect that too much order can be a catalyst that can cause it to break out. Witness, for instance, the Karens going ballistic in the grocery store over an everyday hassle. I'm surprised we haven't had more spontaneous confrontations with the petty bureaucratic bullshit we all have to deal with everyday. I think the Canadian truckers have had enough of it.
