EU state to issue fines for celebrating WW2 victory over Nazis
Understandably, Estonia has mixed feelings about the Soviet victory over the Nazis. Title is from RT, the Russian propaganda machine. I don't really understand what's going on in Ukraine. America says Russia's attack was unprovoked, Russia says you done crossed the line with your provocations. I suspect both Russia and America are actually worried about China and decided to have a proxy war to try out their new weapons. I mean, there's no substitute for testing under fire. Also lets them beat the war drum and so drum up more funding for new armaments.
Don't understand what's going on in the Ukraine?
ReplyDeleteThe Russians took part of the Ukraine in 2014 and nobody did anything about it.
In 2022 the Russians, reassured by some Ukrainian sympathizers, decided they could roll in and take the rest of the Ukraine for it’s rich mineral wealth and food production so much of the world depended on.
But many Ukrainians remember, or were told by parents, of Holodomor when the Russians starved 4 million Ukrainians to death, thus decided they were mad as hell and not going to take it lying down.
When the Soviet Union broke up the Ukraine became the third biggest nuclear power in the world.
In 1994 the Ukraine agreed to give up their nuclear weapons when the US and Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum promising to protect the Ukraine against all aggressors.
Russia broke their promise, we must not.
