Defence Blog reports: US Air Force introduces Skyraider II attack aircraft
I look at the picture and say - that's an Air Tractor, and sure enough that's what it is, er, was.

$3 billion for 75 aircraft comes out to $40 million each which seems a bit steep to me considering an F-35, a vastly more sophisticated aircraft, costs about twice that much.

The aircraft does not cost that much. It's all the add on's that cost. A Chinese Stinger knockoff costing about 3K can bring it down easily. Just use a cheaper drone.
