I'll grant you, it does look weird. But you cannot see the base of the middle pillar, it is behind the train, and if the picture is to be believed, the base is behind the railroad tracks as well. The line of the tracks would form an acute angle with the aquaduct, but the arches are wide, so it is possible. Lastly, why would anyone fake it? That's what I don't understand.
