I gave this short speech over two years ago at Ignite Salem in Salem, Oregon. I put up a post about it at the time. I had forgotten that they were recording it. I don't know what brought it to mind now, but I decided to check YouTube the other day, and lo and behold, there it was! How cool is that?
Do I really look like that? I am pretty sure I combed my hair before I went on stage. The video makes me look like I just got out of bed.
The slides are not well coordinated with the talk. The format was fixed: 20 slides in five minutes, which means each slide is on the screen for 15 seconds. I tried to arrange the slides so they would coincide with the words, but I couldn't fit things together around the 15 second rule. I did what I could, but the result is rather uncoordinated looking. I think this may have been before I got my camera. I got all the pictures off of Wikipedia Commons as Ignite Salem wanted to be legal regarding copyrights. Salem, for you non-Oregonians, is the capital city of Oregon and is about 50 miles South of Portland along Interstate-5.

Dear Friend,
Matthew says- "No, you look good. Just like a crazy inventor is supposed to look." and I say,
You should be on t.v.- you would do a
better Andy Rooney than Andy- plus you have a unique perspective- which we all love. Keep jousting those concrete windmills, Nikola.
