The only one I've heard of is Blackwater, and they've changed their name. I don't know, but I suspect that some of the larger outfits are only doing logistics and support, not actual combat. Still, a bunch of big outfits that I've never heard of.

From what I've read in bits and pieces buried in other articles it sounds like these private armies control about half of Africa. They're keeping the people under control telling them they are keeping them safe from somebody or other, while their employer who could be a local despot or foreign power/corporation, rapes the country.
