Neo-Luddites

The movement emerged in the harsh economic climate of the Middle Eastern wars and stressful working conditions in the new computer chip factories. The principal objection of the Neo-Luddites was to the introduction of new wafer handling robots, resulting in the loss of jobs for many skilled fab workers. The movement began in Silicon Forest in 2011 and spread rapidly throughout America in 2011 and 2012. Fabs and fab equipment were burned by technicians, and for a short time the Neo-Luddites were so strong that they clashed in battles with the National Guard.
