The Golden Hawk (1952) |
Riders of Skaith has the best review of a movie I've seen in a long time:
I looked for a clearer version of the poster that Riders posted. I didn't find one, but I did find this:
1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk |
You don't suppose the movie had anything to do with the name of this car, do you?

I don't think they're related but that is one sweeeeeeet car. :D
Oh, I think they are totally related. All the marketing types are sitting around the conference table (or the bar), trying to come up with a name for their new car, and one of the guys remembers this movie, and remembers it very well because it was such a great movie and he sells the other guys on the name with his enthusiasm. This is a Totally True Story except for the parts that are completely made up. (I stole that line from 'Inventing Anna'. They stuck it in the opening sequence of each episode. They used a different technique each time. Very clever.)
There was a Flight Hawk, Power Hawk, and Silver Hawk also, so I doubt Golden Hawk came from a movie.
It absolutely came from the movie. Why you doubters are trying to discredit my totally valid theory is beyond me.
