Cambodian woman doctor from the Philippines is staying in Las Vegas with her sister waiting for her son to be admitted to a gene therapy treatment program. Her visa has expired so she is working with her sister as a cleaning lady, since that is only kind of work they can get since they are both illegal aliens.
She is cleaning the restrooms in a warehouse when a gangster is shot dead on the premises. She is discovered and offers to clean up the mess and talks herself into a new job, working for a gangster.
The show is basically bi-polar: on one hand we have the precarious existence of illegal aliens trying get by, working menial jobs in Las Vegas, along with the heartbreak of having a five year old kid who is liable to die at any moment. I supposed some people enjoy this, me, I've had enough. On the other hand we have our girl stuck between working for a bunch of Armenians gangsters and the FBI trying to use her as an informant. There is no really mystery here, no puzzles to solve. The only mystery is how she is going to get out of her predicament of the moment.
