I've read many articles in car magazines disparaging GM's two-speed automatic transmission, the Powerglide, and here it has been reincarnated as the preferred transmission for drag racing. Who'd a thunk it?

nothing new really they used powerglides back in the 1960's for drag racing.
The 60's were a zillion years ago. Did you know they were using Powerglide transmissions in drag racing today?
