Actually we are talking about an expression, not just a word. I am not sure I have ever heard it used before. It showed up in a
Powell's (bookstore) Daily Dose email:
". . . is about a newspaper reporter assigned to write the agony column,"
An "agony column"? What the heck is an agony column?
Wikipedia gives us a couple of definitions that might apply:
- A column of a newspaper that contains advertisements of missing relatives and friends
- Advice column in a newspaper
Two different kinds of emotional agony.

An isogone is a line of equal magnetic deviation and the Agone is a line of zero magnetic deviation. And Kalum is speculative Islamic theology.
So perhaps the Agone Kalam is a piece written with zero deviation speculations in Islamic theology? ;-)
