What kind of war is this?

Zelensky says Ukraine has completed repairs on Druzhba pipeline, which carries Russian oil to Europe

Doesn't make any sense to me. It's like two nutcases pretending to strangle each other while squishing a third party between them who is siphoning money out of both their wallets.

P. S. Ten minutes later I came across this one:

Pipeline Ships

Pipelay process on Allseas' Pioneering Spirit
Allseas

Aegir Deepwater Construction Vessel (DCV)

Aegir DCV lays pipelines across the ocean floor. Unlike the Pioneering Spirit (video above), the Aegir uses the J-Lay technique which involved assembling the pipe sections in the tower and dropping the new sections out the bottom of the ship. This only works in deep water, but there is plenty of deep water out there.

I saw another, better quality video about the construction of the pipelines that serve the underwater wells of the Gorgon Project, but the internet ate it and I cannogh be finding it capin.

Colonial Pipeline

Colonial Pipeline

This is what keeps the East Coast humming.

The pipeline – consisting of three tubes – is 5,500 miles long and can carry 3 million barrels of fuel per day between Texas and New York. - Wikipedia

Fuel started flowing in 1964. I'm posting this just because I like the map.

Power of Siberia Pipeline #2

Power of Siberia Pipeline

Watching European leaders blundering around, sliding farther down the slope everyday, heading toward the abyss, is like watching a movie about crazy people. Nothing they do makes any sense, but given we have big name actors playing these parts, you think there must be some secret plan they are following and one of these days they will explain it and it will all become clear. Or maybe they really are just stupid and crazy. Here's another brick in the wall:

Did you notice the EU just lost its gas lifeline?

The EU’s cheap-gas lifeline just got handed to Beijing instead. With three signatures, Russia, China and Mongolia rerouted half a century of energy history eastward.

On Tuesday, the three countries signed a legally binding memorandum for the Power of Siberia 2 pipeline – a roughly 2,600-km line, at an estimated cost of around $13.6 bn, that will carry 50 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas every year through Mongolia into northern China’s industrial heartland.

While the pricing structure has yet to be fixed, the signatories have effectively redrawn the European energy map.

For decades, this gas was the bedrock of German and Western European industry, piped from Russia’s Yamal fields in the Arctic through Nord Stream 1 directly into Germany. Now, that same supply is being redirected east.

I have previously posted about several of the places that are shown on the map:

Druzhba Pipeline

Druzhba Pipeline Map

Story on RT today:

The two countries are building a connector to plug into the Druzhba energy network

Funny how Serbia and Hungary are more concerned about the price of oil than whatever comes out of Washington D. C.

So I gotta look up the Druzhba energy network. Wikipedia has a page that opens with this:

The Druzhba pipeline, also referred to as the Friendship Pipeline and the Comecon Pipeline, is one of the world's longest oil pipelines and one of the largest oil pipeline networks in the world. It began operation in 1964 and remains in operation today. It carries oil some 2,500 miles from the eastern part of European Russia to points in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Germany. The network also branches out into numerous smaller pipelines to deliver its product throughout Eastern Europe and beyond.

The name "Druzhba" means "friendship", alluding to the fact that the pipeline established friendly relations between the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe through the reliable supply of oil. Today, it is the largest principal artery for the transportation of Russian and Kazakh oil across Europe.

While I am sure Eastern Europe welcomed the oil, 'friendly relations' might be overstating the case a bit.
