We built over 5,000 B-26 Marauders. They had the lowest loss rate of any U.S. Army Air Forces bomber.

During World War II, the South African Air Force (SAAF) operated five squadrons of Martin B-26 Marauder medium bombers in the Mediterranean Theater. Flying predominantly from temporary steel-plate airfields in Italy, the SAAF flew crucial missions targeting Axis infrastructure and supporting Allied campaigns.

B-26 Jezabelle

This one showed up in yesterday's Friday Femme Fatale Farrago (NSFW). There was no identification so I asked Google and it turned up this image of the same airplane:

The two airplanes were very similar - medium range twin engine bombers. The B-25 had a slightly higher top speed than the B-26 (230 MPH versus 215) and a slightly longer range (1350 miles versus 1150).
