| Loading a Valar Atomics Compact Nuclear Reactor onto a C-17 Aircraft |
Defence Blog reports:
The United States Department of War and the Department of Energy transported a next-generation nuclear reactor aboard a C-17 military aircraft on Feb. 15, 2026, from March Air Reserve Base in California to Hill Air Force Base in Utah for testing under a federal nuclear modernization initiative.
'Compact' is a relative term.

Other than the deep desire for the government and the government-protected "public utility" CARTELS to CONTROL whether the lights are on or not, etc. is there a reason why compact nuclear reactors are not EVERYWHERE throughout America? Why are we relying on an antiquated, fragile, EMP-vulnerable grid, when this level of decentralization would insulate nearly everyone from the ravages of our less-than-optimum electrical grid? I guess I answered the question in my first sentence though....
Anti-nuclear hysteria has delayed modernizing our power plants for decades and made the cost of any new plant skyrocket. Compound that with the solar and wind power subsidies and it just didn't make sense to invest billions of dollars in baseload nuclear plants when you were looking at decades of lawsuits over every aspect.
Compact nuclear reactors aren't everywhere because they require proper operations and maintenance by actually qualified staff. No DEI hires, no wymen, no mentally unstable trannies. Actually qualified technicians backed up by a highly enforced quality system.
The debacle with the Flint water system when Detroit turned off their supply to the system is perfect example. No qualified operators? That's how lead started appearing in the water after it had been controlled for years.
A reactor that fits in a cargo plane is comparatively speaking "compact".
The important thing for opposing forces to understand, is this can be flown. No super special aircraft required, just your average government contract skyway big rig.
Okay, we kick some ass, and the newly occupied area was ordered to destroy the powerplants before we take over. Theory being, they can cut our petroleum supply lines that would run legacy generators. This negates that theory.
