Drive-in theaters still exist! I haven't seen one in ages. This one is still in business. Seeing that the titles on the marquee are old films, I got to wondering if they were still using film projectors. No, they are not:
Rt 66 Skyview Drive-In in Litchfield, Illinois uses digital projection. The theater converted from traditional 35mm film to digital projection in 2013 when major film studios stopped distributing 35mm prints.
Are any theaters still using actual film? Yes, quite a few. Sprocket School maintains a list of theaters still using analog projectors.

Grew up in a town that only had a drive in. Liked it as a kid but liked it more as a teenager on a date.
An old title on the marquee does not tell us what is inside the projection booth, so checking the 2013 conversion was a useful distinction. The format of the film being shown and the format of the projector are separate questions. That same separation is handy when experimenting with a scene: I can preview a clip against a different background while keeping the original moving subject.
We still have 6 active drive-in's in West Virginia.
