I guess we should have seen this coming. Silicon chip technology is down to 2 nanometers. Amino acids measure between 0.4 and 1 nanometers in length. Some people like to measure these things using Ångströms, which are one-tenth of a nanometer. That is, there are ten Ångströms in a nanometer.
