Because It's Friday

PRR T-1s. This is old film, back before amateurs did much with sound film.

T-1s had some advantages. Their running gear could be much lighter than that of a simplex eight-wheeled locomotive, reducing both vibration to the engine and track wear. The T-1s were reported to be ungodly fast. They also were harder to maintain and they were so powerful it was possible to slip the drivers at 100mph.

Baldwin made 52 T-1 locomotives for the PRR. None survive.

Stolen entire from Comrade Misfit. You can see one set of drive wheels slipping in the scene starting at the 1:14 mark. The slipping starts at 1:22. That's some crazy-scary sh**.
