Amazon Prime. I'm not sure what to make of this show. It's set in the late 19th century in the northern central plains of North America, specifically Kansas and Wyoming, though Nebraska and Alberta get mentioned. We have a rich English woman looking for revenge and a Pawnee Indian who has just retired from service as a scout for the U. S. Army. There are two timelines, fifteen years apart. With that and the way nobody is explaining anyone's actions, it's kind of hard to figure out just what is going on. But they do show us, mostly by people getting killed. Seems like everyone we meet in this show is a killer and most of them are thieves as well. Some very nasty characters. And then we've got syphilis, which is a whole lot nastier than any of the thieving scumbags that come across the screen.
So, a fair amount of action, a wide variety of characters and a puzzle of a plot. The puzzle sucked us in and kept us glued to the screen. There is also an interesting take on the Indians. Before the white man showed up, the Indians were fighting against each other. When the white man showed up, it was just another tribe to be fought against, or possibly allied with to fight against some other tribe. People tend to forget that. I did.

Awhile ago I was reading about the Lakota Winter Counts at the Smithsonian.
One story was they went to pick berries where they do every year and there was a young boy from another tribe picking berries... so they killed him.
