The Tairea was a legendary passenger and general cargo ship built in 1924 in Glasgow for the British India Steam Navigation Company's Calcutta-Japan service. Operating along the Hooghley River, she was a fixture of the Calcutta docks before being decommissioned and scrapped in 1952.
