Wikipedia has a page about the aircraft and the engine. They are a little thick, but it seems the Chinese may have finally figured out how to make a reliable jet engine.

What? The Chinese didn't steal enough US tech to build a jet engine? They have stolen everything else. Just take a close look at everything they allow you to take a picture of.
