One of the first records set by a Bellanca CH-300 series aircraft occurred on July 28–30, 1931, when two guys flew from Floyd Bennett Field on western Long Island to Istanbul, Turkey aboard a CH-300 making it safely to Istanbul nonstop in 49:20 hours, establishing a distance record of 5,011 miles, the first known nonstop record flight in aviation history whose distance surpassed either the 5,000 mile mark. - extracted from Wikipedia
5,000 miles in just under 50 hours means they were traveling at the sedate pace of 100 miles per hour. Still, quite an accomplishment to be locked in a small box for 50 hours and keep the airplane on course.
Bellanca went bankrupt in 1980. There have been a couple of attempts to keep it going, but they seem to have collapsed.
