| Israel’s Smart Shooter gun-carrying drone |
I remember seeing a video some years ago where a guy had mounted an AK-47 on a drone and was flying around shooting at things. I didn't post it because we have enough nut cases running around loose, they don't need any encouragement.
But you can't keep a good idea down and now the Israelis are building small drones carrying machine guns. They've gone a step further though by adding some sophisticated targeting controls. I came across a similar system some years ago.
Smart Shooter also claims their targeting system makes it easier to shoot down drones. They also have automatic guns mounted on tripods. Won't be long before we have battles being fought between robotic machines controlled by people sitting on their couches thousands of miles away. Just hope they don't start their war in your neighborhood.
How long will it be before the vision of the future portrayed in The Terminator becomes real? Not long I expect.
Update next morning. I used a phrase from a comment as a search string and Google returned a an old video of a guy with a machine gun on a quad copter. It's not exactly what I remember, but my memory is hazy, the time frame is right (2012), and it's got all the essential elements, so this might be it.

There was a Russian kid, lived in America, who mounted an AK on a drone. Interesting video. Last I heard the kid was gunned down somewhere on his property. Never heard any more about the crime.
