737 Loses Door

Extracted from a ZeroHedge story:

Boeing 737 Missing Exit Door

A brand new Boeing 737 MAX 9, operated by Alaska Airlines, was forced to make an emergency landing at Portland International Airport shortly after takeoff on Friday evening due to its mid-cabin exit door detaching from the aircraft mid-flight.

737 Flight Path

Data from the aviation tracking website Flightradar24 shows the jet was about ten minutes into the flight, reaching 16,000 feet, with a ground speed of nearly 400 knots when the incident unfolded.

There are no reports of serious injuries," aviation blog Airways Magazine wrote in a note.

I'm not sure why I'm posting this. Probably because they had a map and a succinct explanation of what happened. You seldom get that anymore, most news stories are padded with he-said and she-said ad infinitum. Some people care about that. I'm not one of them.

Seems to me that ever since the bean counter moved their headquarters from Seattle to Chicago, that Boing can't seem to make anything right on their first (or second) try.

Not just planes, but spacecraft too.

Agreed, Moving the headquarters away from engineering because the Presidents divorce made him a social pariah in Seattle was stupid. Boeing became dominant because the engineers called the shots on everything up to that point. Now it's the suits and bean counters.

The panel is reported to have fallen in Washington county. Have you looked in the swamp?
