Minnesota Department of Transportation held a contest to name their new snowplows and guess which name won. Yup, Plowy McPlowFace, which sounds a whole lot like Boaty McBoatFace which showed up when there was a contest to name a new polar research vessel.

Scotland has let the public name something like 160 plows, which they call gritters as they do more sanding(salting) than plowing.
BFG Big Friendly Gritter, For Your Ice Only, Gangsta Granny Gritter, Gritallica, Grit Expectations, Grits-N-Pieces, Gritty Gonzalez, License to Chill, Luke Snowwalker, Mr Plow, Ready Spready Go, Sir Grits-A-Lot, Spready Mercury, Yes Sir, Ice Can Boogie, are some of them.
